3653 **/*/bof imageMesopotamia & Iraq 1918/1960: Old-time collection neatly housed in two stockbooks, arranged used and unused thereafter, with Officials chronologically integrated throughout. The used section commences with a strong representation from the 1918 British Occupation issues (Gi 1-14) onwards, including numerous complete and near-complete sets and better items such as 2 r. on 25 pi. yellow-green with crisp cds, 10 r. on 100 pi. indigo, and the 1923 10 r. lake. Air 1949 3 f. to 100 f. complete set used with duplication (Gi 330/337), together with a selection of singles removed from both perforated and imperforate souvenir sheets. The unused section ranges from 1923 to 1960 and includes better never hinged material such as King Faisal I surcharge 1932 1 d. on 25 r. violet (Gi 121) and ½ d. on 10 r. scarlet (4) unmounted (Gi 120), and 200 f. on 5 r. orange (2). Also present are ½ d. deep blue (Gi 153), ½ d. blue (Gi 228), 10 r. scarlet (4) all unmounted; King Ghazi 1934/38 1 d. claret (2) unmounted (Gi 189), three examples of the ½ d. deep blue (Gi 188), and an attractive horizontal pair of the 200 f. scarlet (Gi 187). Further noted is the Mosque of the Golden Dome 1941 1 d. turquoise-green with part De La Rue imprint at base (Gi 229), Official 1941/43 1 d. turquoise-green (Gi O254) unmounted, in addition to three pages of unmounted blocks of four. Also a page of used blocks of four and four souvenir sheets (two perforated and two imperforate), including the Air stamps. Further unused blocks of four of the 1949 Air 3 f. to 35 f. (five values), with the 50 f. and 100 f. in vertical pair and strip of three respectively (Gi 330-337). Duplication in places runs to small multiples, offering both depth and resale potential.
