numeral obliterator in black of Ipswich. Reverse with "IPSWICH

well ad "DALBY N.S.W. NO 29 1860" arrival datestamps. The adhesive
touched at top and somewhat oxidised, front of cover with central
hole, nevertheless a first month usage of the first issue of
Queensland, unrecorded in the Ben Palmer Queensland census. Cert.

inserted in manuscript, framed "FRANQUEADO / EN SALVADOR" in blue,
British three line dated "PANAMA / 4 JU 1874 / TRANSIT" in black,
with arrival of London Foreign Branch datestamp in black (June 29)
where charged with handstruck "1/6" in black to pay. The earliest
known usage of the Contrasello issue on letter used tro pay the 2
r. rate to Panama just for days after issue. Cert. RPSL (1970) but
photo missing. Note: Illustrated in "The 19th Century Issues of El
Salvador" by Guillermo F. Gallegos & Joseph Hahn on page 66.
