Gi = £ 320+. Note: The Double Tail variety can be found on all printings of the 1 d. from 1854 onwards. Position 28 shows parts of the design duplicated, the remaining original impression being about 2½ mm. to the right. Crown CC sideways reversed, an unused block of thirty-six (positions 17-20/177-180), of delightful fresh colour, showing the top nine rows of the sheet and the radical displacement of the 9th row, this block printed from that part of the plate (vertical rows 16-20) used in making Transfers for producing the 4 d. lithographed plate. The block further shows, below the 6th horizontal row, a 10 mm. gutter with "no watermark", which in a sheet of vertical letterpress Colonial stamps printed by De La Rue would correspond with the space between the left and right hand panes of stamps. A delightful and rare multiple in the foremost quality, large part, mostly unmounted og. Gi = £ 3'240+(Image 1) (Image 2)

Small part of reverse flap missing, with Brough arrival cds (Dec 6) in black. A fine and very scarce cover. Note: The P.O. at Wanerenooka closed down and was transferred to Northampton on 29 Nov 1866, taking with it the void grid obliterator used at the former Office. Manuscript acknowledgement of receipt at right (same day). A delightful and very rare mixed issue three colour franking. Note: The Postal Rate for Town Letters handed in for local delivery, had been 1 d. since 1840. The Registration fee, which had been 1 shilling since 1847 was reduced to 8 d. for inland letters on 1st April 1866. Provenance: Collection L.
