5272 cover imagePostal Orders 1940: Camel 100 m. red with 100 m. poundage issued at Omdurman 8 November 1943, with instructions to reverse amended by violet handstamp. Has been vertically folded centrally, otherwise in fine condition. Also a £E1 "One Egyptian Pound" postal order with 10 m. poundage unissued. This a scarce survivor from the stock that never reached Sudan because the ship carrying the new supply was sunk by Germans in WWII. Bundles of Postal Orders were retrieved but most were damaged. This example shows some stain spots and two vertical creases. Comes with an issued on 27 September 1948. Additionally, a quantity of more modern Postal Orders from 1959 to 1993. Most issued with the odd unissued. A scarce and valuable accumulation(Image 1)
