4850 **/*/bof/(*) image1892-1924: Significant collection of almost exclusively unused material contained within a green album with numerous better and rare examples remaining; specialised study of the Admiral issue 1913-24 (Gi 186/317) although earlier examples are presented, including an unused set of eight of the 1892 issue accompanied by 10 s. deep green (Gi 9), the £ 1 deep blue (Gi 10) and £ 10 brown (Gi 13) has some tone spots to perfs. and gum (cert. A. Diena). Also sets of SG 18-26 and 29-37 both unused, the earlier material also includes used and unused blocks of four such as 1896 set of seven values SG 58-64. However, the main focus is the George V Admiral issue and although there is duplication the collector has selected fine examples and sought shades and varieties incl. 1917/20 Head Die IIIA 2 d. black & grey-black perf. 14 unused horizontal pair variety "Imperforate Between Vertically" (Gi 255a) comes with a BPA certificate which states "regummed" but scarce; unused horizontal pair 1913/19 Single Working Plate 1 d. rose-red with variety "Imperforate Between Vertically" (Gi 195a) fresh colour og. slightly browned; also a very fine example of the Double Plate 1913/19 Head Die II £ 1 black & violet in a horizontal pair (Gi 243) unused large part og. one stamp unmounted. There is also a small selection of Double Heads and one Southern and one Northern Rhodesia item. Much to discover, inevitably some flaws and minor faults with such numbers despite the collector's obvious eye for quality.
