5095 imagePostal Orders: 1924: King George V, 20 s. red, 4 d. overprint type T3T, original poundage 2 d., GvR watermark (issued in Britain for a few months), large design, dated 1 August 1929, struck with a double circle "M.O.O. PORT HARCOURT", two heavy vertical creases and small hole in top above 'Y' of 'PAYEE'. The GvR watermark postal orders are rare and this is the only known surviving of this type. 5102 bof/(*) imageInternational Reply Coupon 1927: Imperial type, Proof, imperforate bottom left corner marginal block of four, printed on block cypher watermarked paper, with "WATERLOW & SONS LIMITED LONDON" imprint, without printing to reverse, from the original sheet of nine. Has two vertical creases, one heavy through the left side pair which has caused several pin holes, also the bottom left impression has a hole above the ship mask and a surface rub in top border. Scorch marks from the air crash fire. A scarce example. Note: The British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) Canadair C-4 Argonaut airliner crashed into a tree on departure from Kano Airport in Nigeria, on 24 June 1956.
