20 c. red, the extraordinary piece bearing a horizontal pair (position 32-33), marginal strip of six (positions 37-42) and 1863 20 c. red (two, one is halved at end of the piece and the other with closed tear), all cancelled
by manuscript pen strokes. Position 40 in the strip of six shows the major retouch "redrawn background lines above the value". One or two minor vertical creases of no importance as this exceptional piece bears the largest known used multiple of the
20 centavos in the strip of six besides showing a rare mixed issue franking. A wonderful and colourful Exhibition piece for the connoisseur. Unique. Cert. Moorhouse (2012). Provenances: Consul Span, Corinphila sale 39 (Oct 1951), lot 5714. Hugo
