to large all round, cancelled by Maltese Crosses in red. A famous and extremely rare multiple of good appearance but repaired thins and creases in places. 10d. would pay the rate for a letter up to 5 ounces or the single rate to France - these
however normally prepaid in cash Gi AS46 = £ 40'000+.rnRemark: The block adjoins the "Daisy/Sayeed" block of 10 AB-BF, together making a block of 20 and thus the second largest recorded used multiple of the Penny Black. Certificate RPSL

three sides, just touched occasionally at base, a light crease affecting PH and a repair to PJ and PK, on sextuple rate cover to the Bishop's Registrar in Carlisle. The stamps are tied by neat strikes of the Maltese Cross in red. Reverse with HAWICK
despatch cds (Oct 24) of depatch in black. File fold crosses between PG and PH but a splendid example of the up to 3 ounce rate. The second longest used multiple from pl. 7, second only to a heavily repaired strip of eight. (Image 1) (Image 2)

horizontal strip of six RA-RF, touched to large margins all round,cental fold through RC, RF with small tear, used on 1841 cover from Hayes to Carleton, Pontefract, all tied by Maltese Crosses in red. Minor imperfections as to be expected with heavy
letters. Framed "T.P. / HAYES K" despatch below. Reverse with Pontefract cds on reverse (Jan 9). An outstanding cover pre-paying the under 5 ounce rate with original contents of two letters. The largest recoreded franking from plate 8 in the Karl
