SMALL 12 CENTS PALE BLUE COVER, 12 cents black on pale blue, Townsend Type D, with initials of postal clerk Wight EDW, cut square with margins ranging from just touched to large, used on entire letter from the Duff correspondence, with neatly strike of DEMERARA datestamp on 23 June 1851, arrival cds of Berbice on reverse, one of only two covers recorded in private hands bearing this stamp, both being very similar, the archive fold passing through the stam....Estimate € 200000 Sold for EUR 56,000

Short Terms and Conditions


On all lots sold, a commission of 24% on the hammer price is payable by the buyer to the auctioneer.
The lots are all differentially taxed, VAT is not shown.
Shipping fee is 10 € (based shipping (EU)) + 20 € (worldwide shipping) + 0.2% insurance (for shipping outside the EU).
Shipping is declared by the supplement of the auction invoice.

Bids below the starting price will not be accepted!
