219 image1942-44 Japanese Occupation 8c red & 15c ultramarine Type 7 without overprint top marginal positional UM blocks of twenty, minor toning mentioned for accuracy. These stamps were not without the Japanese Occupation overprint, although unoverprinted examples exist, it is believed that these 1941 printing were produced and possibly perforated by other firms in Great Britain following bomb damage to the De La Rue works at the end of 1940. These two blocks are believed to be the largest known multiples. See footnote in SG after SG.78. Cat. £7000+ (Image)
