1000 image1900-09 COLLECTION OF LETTERS (approx 50) to Mrs. Earle from her husband (Major Earle), 24 of which include the cover, mostly addressed to Sidmouth and bearing KEVII 1d, from Northwich, Manchester, Kinveachy Forest etc. The engaging and lively content covers subjects ranging from his children, cricket, shooting and the life of a well heeled Edwardian gentleman. 36 of the letters include pen (a few pencil) illustrations, mostly caricatures of the Major (clearly a talented artist) playing the banjo, fishing, shooting, embracing his wife & children, yawning outside his tent etc. A charming and fascinating social history.
