376 image1817-98 postal history collection neatly presented and written up on leaves which commences with a 1696 letter from La Ciotat to Livorno, then a range of pre-stamp or stampless entires (14), incl. 1817 Ramsgate to Paris, 1828 Paris to the Duke of Hamilton, Hamilton, Scotland, 1840 Viterbo to London with a variety of departure & arrival strikes, tax marks etc. The issued stamps follow with 1849 20c Lannillis to Morlaix and Dieuze to Birchviller, 25c Rouen to Gournay, 1853 20c (2) registered ('Charge') L'Isle Rousse (Corsica) to Paris, 40c Rouen to Roanne and 1859 15c Postage Due to Montpellier. An impressive range of covers (75) follow with various rates to 80c (to Malta), 40c (3) to London and many with 10c or 20c rates, 40c foreign rates (several to UK) and 1861 to UK with 20c (4). An excellent variety of different issues, destinations, routes & rates, markings, tariffs, registered, printed envelopes, Paris Pneumatic postal cards (3) etc. Well worth careful inspection, a fine & substantial collection. 377 image1849-1958 extensive U collection in a stock book with a useful range of 200 or so early imperf issues, generally in good condition for these incl. 1849 10c, 20c (6), 25c (7) & 40c (3), 1853 incl. 1c (2), 5c (6), 40c (8) & 80c (7) with numerous 20c blue with a variety of shades & postmarks. Ranges of the 1862-63 & 1871 issues follow, then Peace & Commerce and substantial later issues with some better (1936 10f myrtle green Air etc).
