1841 Transatlantic mail, very fine entire sent from Stewartstown, Ireland to Pennsylvania, USA, bearing a horizontal strip of six 2d deep full blue Pl.1 AC-AH, severed between AF-AG, just touched on AC, AE & AH showing non
prominent re-entry to AH. Neatly cancelled by crisply struck black MC's, additionally tied by a red 'Crowned' Paid Ship Letter/London d/stamp for MR.10.1841 and a red New York transit c.d.s. for AP.4.1841. Endorsed at lower left in manuscript
'P.British Queen/from Portsmouth/10th March' indicating the date of sail of the departing Mail Ship. B/stamped by a Stewartstown despatch c.d.s. for MR.7.1841, Dublin and London transit d/stamps for MR.8.1841, and MR.10.1841, respectively. Small tear
at foot of AD and a vertical filing fold through AE, nevertheless one of the great rarities and classic covers of the issue with the full 1s rate prepaid with adhesives. BPA Cert. 2008. (Image)
