1914-31 specialised collection of the KGV Heads 1d issue U on pages, beautifully written up and presented on pages in an album and showing, in depth, the various positions from the eight diff Plates. Mostly focussed on the 1d
red & 1d green (with some 1d violet also), each of the 800 stamps are identified by position and Plate number (mostly with wmk identified), showing (with illustrations) the corresponding Die, cliché, frame break, notched frame, 'neck flaw', 'RA'
joined, 'dot before I' etc, with shades and the odd inverted wmk also. The product of exhaustive and diligent research, a fascinating and unusual collection.

1929 Hodgkinson 3d airmail covers collection written up on pages. An avid collector, Hodgkinson's project involved sending two covers to the postmasters in each of the 31 proposed routes, with two self-addressed envelopes to
Rochester, Victoria and 6d in stamps, requesting that the 3d stamp (marginal Plate number examples if possible), when issued, be added to the envelopes included, along with any airmail cachets. The collection comprises eight of the outgoing covers,
four of his letters, five replies from the postmasters and 27 covers from 24 of the airports (Mt Isa & Camooweal Queensland, Broome Western Australia etc). Each bears the 3d (ten of which do, indeed, have a marginal Plate number) and additional
defins to make up the 4½d rate, tied by the appropriate postmark and with (in most cases) airmail cachets added. A fascinating collection, and as only 62 covers can exist (twelve of which are in the National Library of Australia), a scarce
assembly. (Image)
