Herring was captured and moved from Stanley Camp (Dec 30 41) to North Point (Dec 30 41 - Sept 26 42), then Samshuipo (Sept 26 42 to Sept 10 45). He received to cover while at Samshuipo. He survived and returned to Canada via USS Gosper, arriving in Victoria, BC on Oct 12, 1945. His information is online at HKVCA.ca. All images shown available as PDF.
