133 c imageFrance 1870 pigeongramme on photographic paper from Blois (Oct 25, 1870) to Paris, France, by pigeon, a distance of 160 km. Blois was 50 km NNE of Tours, the seat of the temporary government. The pigeongramme was sent to Steenackers, Directeur des Telegraphs at 103, rue de Grenelle with a faint postmark visible in the address panel (3/4 down, centrally). The pigeongramme was carried during the 2nd period (Oct 16, 1870 to Dec 13, 1870, per Hayhurst). Scarce. Ex Madesker.
