1869 Montreal, CE (Jan 2 69) duplex ties #22 1¢ Large Queen on small cover (opening tear at bottom) to local address paying the 1¢ drop letter rate. The enclosed letter is headed "Infirmerie de la Paroisse 1er Janvier 1868", which is the Parish Infirmary and the writer forgot the new year and wrote "1868" instead of "1869", like we often do too.

1885 Louis Riel essay in red on unwatermarked wove paper, four full margins, clipped corner at lower left. Less than ten thought to exist. Reportedly printed in preparation of a Metis Nation, with stylized Lady Liberty image, printed by lithography. An important part of Canadian history and rarely offered for sale.
