  • In the field of Classic France, we are pleased to offer stamps of exceptional standing, including a magnificent imperforate tête-bêche of No. 14 in a block of nine, a strip of three of the unused Vermilion, a mint Vermilion, and the highly sought-after unissued 20 centimes Sage

  • Turning to the specialised sections, we begin with an exceptional Airmail ensemble devoted to the Île-de-France issues. All known configurations are represented: both types, stamps with widely spaced surcharges joined to normal examples, the inverted surcharge on the 10 centimes, and the extremely rare inverted and widely spaced surcharge joined to an inverted example, a variety known in only five copies

  • We also present an important selection of booklets, foremost among them the rarest of all: the Louvre Booklet with its ten stamps. This marks only the second time that Behr has had the privilege of offering this legendary item for sale

  • The French Colonies are represented by several first-rate lots, including the famous Indochina issue with inverted inscription joined to normal in a block of ten of the 75 centimes, as well as a pair of No. 8 from New Caledonia
