MEXICO
LotNo. Symbol Lot Description Cat. Value
599 imageEXTENSIVE MEXICO REVENUE COLLECTION, includes tens of thousands of mint and used revenues, the collection is contained in one very large three ring binder, this album is all different and pretty much covers many of the areas in the Mexico Revenue Catalog from front to back, then there are six other large to very large three ring binders with dozens of black stock pages, this section contains many duplicates from the collection but there are also hundreds of stamps in these binders which are NOT present in the main album, also many of the lower value issues have 20-30 or even more duplicates but many of these have different State overprints, it appears the collector was trying to get an example of ever state on every issue which of course would be a daunting task, the overall condition of the collection and stock is mixed but generally pretty clean but there are faults to be expected here, some of the highlight sections are: "CF"-$2,515, "DO"-$4,141, "R"-$4,550, "AD"-$503, "HT"-1,738, "MP"-$502, "PE"-$767, "RV"-$757, "DU"-$1,525, "M"-$840, "PI"-$1,320, "SO"-$500, "YU"-$585, the collection and better item in the stock catalog about $25,000, we estimate there is easily another $10,000 in lower value(under $3) catalog value, also there are a few dozen proofs which are not figured in the catalog value and there are many unlisted varieties which also are not figured, then there is certainly thousands of dollars value in many of the better states overprints on common stamps, in addition there is a printed Mexico Revenue Catalog included with this lot, it is in a very large three ring binder and most of the stamps in the collection are noted in the catalog along with the better duplicates which are in the stock books, this is a most amazing collection and without question the most extensive Mexico Revenue collection we have ever offered in over 50 years of selling retail and at auction, to duplicate what this collector has done would easily cost $30-40 thousand dollars and decades of hunting and searching and buying, this group is housed in three medium boxes to cutdown on weight, we have included dozens of scans of just some of the better pages in the collection and stock but there are hundreds of better stamps which are not in these images, viewing this collection in person will be a huge advantage to the serious bidder, this collection is being offered intact as received from the estate of the collector, nothing has been removed, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to jump into this very popular area of philately.
