(RO118e) 8c Blue, Unused, nice strong powder blue shade which is indicative of the Experimental Silk paper, distinctive thick paper, there is one clear blue silk fiber on the back which is clearly embedded in the paper, couple of very minor tiny thins, the perfs clear all around which is unusual for the Ives issues, there are three examples recorded on the Aldrich Census and all have faults to some degree, a Fine appearing example of this exceedingly rare stamp and the first time in over 50 years we have ever offered this rarity in one of our auction sales, Scott $ 2,500, (ENV 4,000-5,000)
