provisional postmark for substituting those lost in warfare.

 1948 Tachang (1 Aug) to Hankow, returned to sender, f.w. SYS $50000 x2 + surch $5000 x3, in total of $115000 for domestic registered airmail rate, tied by Kiangsu Tachang agency No. 1 cds. Arrived Hankow (3 Aug) but addressee
was not found. A slip was attached and departed from Hankow (3 Aug) back to Tachang (8 Aug) with postal saving cds. First day cover of new postage which was effective between 1 and 8 Aug 1948 only. Return mail and Tachang postal saving cds are also
interesting.
1948.8.1 大場寄漢口，退回寄件人，背貼孫像5萬元x2 + 改值5000元x3，合11萬5千元國內掛號航空郵資，銷江蘇大場“代一” 三格日戳。8.3抵漢口，但未能找到收件人。貼有憑單指示退回，8.3離開漢口，8.3抵大場，鈐郵政儲金日戳。郵資首日封，此郵資僅於1948年8月1日至8日間生效。退回郵件及大場郵政儲金日戳同樣有趣。(Image 1)

 1948 England (8 Dec) to Colonel Chiang Wai Kuo, Suchow, returned to sender, f.w. KGVI 1sd + 3d, tied by London slogan d.s. Applied with undelivered and return cachet. Retured to London (6 Apr 1949). Sender was probably Captain
Hugh Percy Hare. This cover was sent about the same time that Chiang was ordered by Chiang Kai Shek to persuade Fu Zuoyi in Peking to move south with his forces on 23 Dec. He then returned to Nanking on 25 Dec. At that point of time, he was the
commander of the Armored troops in Nanking. Very historical and important cover. With AIEP certificate issued by Dr. Sam Chiu.
1948.12.8 英國寄蔣緯國，退回寄件人，貼佐治六世1先令 + 3便士，銷倫敦日戳。鈐無法投遞及退回指示戳。1949.4.6退回倫敦。 寄件人應為Captain Hugh Percy
Hare。當時蔣介石指示蔣緯國於12月23日游說傅作義自北京移陣至南方。其後他於12月25日回到南京，為裝甲兵司令部參謀長。極具歷史意義之郵例。附趙資靈博士簽發之AIEP證書。(Image 1)

 1929 Shanghai (22 Oct) to Philippine via Hankow. Airmail cover, f.w. Peking 2nd Print airmail issue complete set (Chan A6-10) + State Burial 10c + Unification 10c + Junk 5c on both sides, tied by Shanghai bilingual cds. On
front with bilingual "AIR MAILS" marking, registered mark and label. Transit Hankow (23 Oct) but returned to Shanghai (26 Oct) via domestic airmail. Given the peculiar route and addressee W. Brugmann (famous Filipino philatelist), it is philatelic in
nature. Still, very interesting.
1929.10.22 上海經漢口寄菲律賓。航空封，正背貼北京二版航空票全（陳目A6-10） + 國葬1角 + 統一1角 + 帆船5分，銷上海三格英漢日戳。正面見“航空郵件”戳、掛號標籤及掛號章。10.23到漢口以國內航空回到上海（10.26）。郵路奇特，加以收件人W. Brugmann為菲律賓著名集郵家，故此為集郵封，但仍十分有趣。(Image 1)
