estimated about 50 examples of Swatow Dollar cds exist which is a rather small number given the prosperity of Swatow as a treaty port. Also, as dollar cds was formally used between 1897 and 1899, there was only one intercalary month in between and it
is one of the only four exmples of Swatow Dollar cds dated intercalary 3rd month were recorded by Robert Kong. Illustration fig 3, p. 111 in "Interesting Covers Bearing Swatow Large Circular Date Stamp" by Robert Kong, "Asian Philatelist 2020".
1898.5.6 汕頭寄香港。大清第一版郵資片，銷汕頭大圓戳（月份為閏三月）。5.7抵香港。2019.6 Interasia，拍品號2303。蔡盛舊藏。趙資靈博士推算，汕頭大圓戳之存世封片僅約50來件，以一繁華商埠而言算是較少。而由於大圓戳的正式使用為1897至1899年間，當中僅有一個閨月，故閨三月之汕頭大圓戳稀罕難得，此為龔秀彬記錄的僅四件之一。 《亞洲郵學家2020》龔秀彬著《漫談汕頭大圓戳郵件》一文第111頁圖3原件。(Image 1)

removed cds in black. Nice Tanant correspondence with Wuhu dolalr cds. Peking "Customs" removed cds is also much rarer than Tientsin "Customs" removed cds. Paul K S Chang recorded its usage between Feb 1898 and Feb 1899 and this example was dated
even slightly later. 2004 (Jan) PhilaChina, lot 975.
