2022 cover image11 April 1868, an outer cover addressed to Messieurs Buissonnet & Co. Shanghae Chine, franked with 4x EMPIRE-Franc 40c cancelled by diamond lozenge numeral "214a/A" obliterator, and LYON c.d.s cancelled on both stamps and the reverse side as well, together with Marseille transit c.d.s. and a blue oval forwarding agent cachet "HLMMEELING GRASSIE & MLYN". On the front side, further cancelled by a red handstamp of "PD", referring to Paid to Destination.

2023 cover image4 April 1873, a cover addressed officier de la Légion d'honneur à Shanghai Chine, franked with 2x REPUB-Franc Head 25c and a pair of REPUB-Franc 40c, double rate to Chine, cancelled by star numeral lozenge "13", together with a clear French c.d.s. "PARIS R. DE LA TACHERIE/4 AVRIL 73". The reverse side cancelled by a red Paris transit c.d.s. and an arrival c.d.s. in China "SHANG-HAI CHINE / 17 MAI 73", indicating the mail should be shipped by French packet line. The cover is further endorsed at the bottom of "Poste restante", indicating that this mail is instructed to be held at the Shanghai post office until the addressee comes to collect it. Interesting mail.

2027 cover image1884 (9 May) a registered mail sent from Shanghai to Senegal, franked with a pair of 25c yellow French adhesive tied by a double circle “SHANG-HAI CHINE / 9 MAI 84”, red arrival c.d.s. (22 JUIN), a red boxed “R” registered mark. On the reverse, cancelled by a series of transit c.d.s., a large blue circle “Expedition A Giandquilla Shanghai / 9.5.1884”. A good registered mail sent from a French military ship.

2030 cover image1877 Chefoo (17 Sep) to France, f.w. Ceres 25c, tied by 5104 diamond obliterator. Letter headlined "Tchefou". Transit French paquebot (23 Sep). In 1878, Customs Post was available and combination/cash mails from Chefoo emerged (Cash cover from Chefoo was even seen in Dec 1877). Therefore, It is a late, if not latest mail from Chefoo entirely by French post before the inauguration of Customs Post. Applying 5104 obliterator but without Shanghai French PO cds alongside is also unusual.

1877.9.17 煙台寄法國，貼五穀女神像25生丁，銷5104菱形殺手戳。原信抬頭地址為“煙台”。9.23經法國郵船。由於1878年海關郵政開辦，寄國外郵件多以現金封或混貼封形式出現，甚至於1877年12月已見煙台寄出之現金封。故此為海關郵政開辦前，從煙台全程經法國客郵寄出之甚晚，甚至為最晚例子。以5104殺手戳銷票但不見上海法局日戳同樣奇特。(Image 1) (Image 2) (Image 3) (Image 4)

2035 cover image1874 (27 Nov) an envelope from Menton to Foochow Chine transit via Paris, Marseille and Hong Kong (17 Jan 1875), franked with French Ceres 4 x 25c and 1 x 30c, cancelled by “ML 1o” diamond lozenges, showing framed “PD” handstamp in red adjacent, with a series of transit mc.d.s and a very fine “FOOCHOWFOO / A” c.d.s. in blue ad handled by its British P.O. in Foochow. A rare mail since it is seldom to have Foochow mail in use of French adhesives and origin. Provenance: The Nostalgia Collection / InterAsia 6/2016.

2044 cover image1863 (3 March) an entire sheet sent from Hong Kong to Nantua, France, franked with a pair of French Ceres 20c in blue and one single 10c yellow with large margin, both tied by clear anchor diamond lozenges, with a legibly clear French octagonal “COL. F. V. SUEZ PAQ. F. / DONNAI / 3 MARS 63”. With reference to Lee Scamp’s French Mail Paquebot Far East Itineraries page 16 (Figure MI-63-7B), the French octagonal DONNAI d.s. is the same as that figure illustration on the book. This French M.I. datestamp was cancelled on voyage of the steamer from Hong Kong to Saigon, matching the use of anchor lozenges. This is also the first voyage of DONNAI M.I. steamer providing its regular French packet services. An extremely important French M.I. mail.

1863.3.3 香港寄法國，貼20生丁雙連 + 10生丁，銷船錨殺手戳及法國郵船Donnai號日戳。為Scamp書中該戳圖例之原件。同為Donnai號恒常服務之首航例子，極為難得。(Image 1) (Image 2) (Image 3) (Image 4)
