Transit Mongtze French PO (14 Aug), Laokay (23 Aug), Hanoi (27 Aug). Arrived Bordeaux (9 Oct). With French certificate. In 1900, Mengtsz and Yunnanfu were still not open to foreigners. French Indochina therefore set up the post offices in Mengtsz and Yunnanfu in the name of "Laokay A" and "Laokay B" respectively to keep a low profile. In 1901, Mengtsz was open to foreigners so "Laokay A" was changed to "Mongtze" while Yunnanfu was changed to "Mongtze B" until 1904 Yunnanfu was also open. According to AVA's record, about 20 covers from Mongtze B exist.

1330 cover image1902 Mongtze B (Yunnanfu) (13 Sep) to France. Shipwreck cover, f.w. Navigation and Commerce issue 15c + 10c, tied by scarce Mongtze B French PO cds. Transit Laokay (Sep), Hanoi (9 Oct), Haiphong (10 Oct), Saigon (14 Oct). Arrived Bordeaux (14 Nov). On reverse showing "Naufrage du Passe-Partout". The shipwreck of postal barge "Le Passe Partout" happened on 29 Sep on Red River. It is one of the two covers known applied with this shipwreck marking. In 1900, Mengtsz and Yunnanfu were still not open to foreigners. In combination with Navigation and Commerce issue 25c in pair, tied by Laokay (21 Jun) cds. Transit Yen-Bai (23 Jun), Hanoi (26 Jun), Haiphong (27 Jun), Hong Kong (7 Jul). Arrived Shanghai BPO (12 Jul). Customs Post was only available for internal mails so no Chinese franking was required.

1897.6.15 蒙自寄上海大北電報公司，背面鈐蒙自海關C型黑色日戳。正面加貼航海及商貿神像25生丁雙連，銷老街6.21日戳。6.23經安沛，6.26經河內，6.17經海防，7.7經香港。7.12抵上海英局。當時海關郵政僅供關員使用，故鈐蒙自海關日戳後只需貼印支票，(Image 1) (Image 2)

1338 cover image1903 Mengtsz (27 Mar) to Tsingtau, f.w. Coiling Dragon 4c, tied by Mengtsz bisected bilingual cds. Transit Yunnanfu, Suanwei (13 Apr), Chaotung, Chungking, Shanghai (15 May). Given the mountainous geography of Yunnan, most mails to/from Yunnan were delivered via French Indochina. This example, however, took domestic route. Only a few similar examples were recorded. Probably a trial delivery of the domestic Yangtze River route.

1903.3.27 蒙自寄青島，貼蟠龍4分，銷蒙自半切漢英日戳。經雲南府，4.13經宣威，隨後經昭通、重慶，5.13經上海。由於雲南地勢崎嶇，絕大部分往來雲南郵件都須繞道印支。然而此例北上走國內郵路。類似例子已知僅有數件。可能為測試新開通的北上四川經長江寄遞的郵路。(Image 1) (Image 2)

1339 cover image1903 Siakwan (14 Jun) to France. ICP 1st print PSC, uprated by 1c x3, tied by Sikwan PO handfilled h.s. In combination with Indian KEVII 1a, tied by Bhamo (7 Jul) cds. Arrived France (18 Jul). Since China and India reach a postal convention on 1 Mar 1904 by which combination frankinfg with Indian stamps were no longer required. Such early combination examples are very scarce with fewer than 20 exist according to the record of Mah Lang Moe.

1903.6.14 下關寄法國。大清第一版郵資片，加貼1分x3，銷下關郵政局手填日戳。加貼印度愛德華七世1安娜，銷八莫7.7中轉戳。7.18抵法國。1904年3月1日，中國與英印簽訂郵政協議，雲南寄出經八莫之郵件毋需再混貼英印郵票，故混貼英印票之早期雲南封片十分少見，按馬蘭茂記錄存世應不過二十件。(Image 1) (Image 2)

1340 cover image1904 Tali (9 Feb) to USA, f.w. Coiling Dragon 10c, tied by Tali PO handfilled d.s. Transit Siakwan (13 Feb), Tengyueh (21 Feb). In combination with Indian QV 1/2a in pair + KEVII 1a, tied by Bhamo (1 Mar) cds. On 1 Mar 1904, China and India reached postal convention by which combination franking was no longer required for mails from Yunann taking Bhamo route. This cover, dated 1 Mar upon transit at Bhamo, hence historical. Probably the latest combination mail from Yuann with Indian stamps, not to mention fewer than 20 such combination mails exist according to the record of Mah Lang Moe.

1904.2.9 大理寄美國，貼蟠龍1角，銷大理郵政局手填日戳。2.13經下關，2.21經騰越。加貼印度票3枚，銷八莫3.1日戳。1904年3月1日，中國與英印簽訂郵政協議，雲南寄出經八莫之郵件毋需再混貼英印郵票。此封正是於當天於八莫中轉，故極具歷史意義。混貼英印票之雲南封片按馬蘭茂記錄存世應不過二十件，此件可能為最晚例子。(Image 1) (Image 2)

Arrived Sydney (16 Apr) with war saving certificates promotional d.s. This card took 21 days to reach Hokow. Mails from Southwest China to Australia are also unusual.
