Arrived Wuchang (12 May) As addressee was not found, cover was opened in order to look for information and then resealed with 1st print officially resealed labels with "Wuchang First Class Postmaster" oval d.s. for responsibility Redirected to Shanghai (14 Oct). Then forwarded to Dead Letter Office (20 Oct) for return to USA. Arrived on 27 Dec. Interesting and scarce. Illustration fig.11 in "Damaged Mails Salvaged by Reseal Labels of the Republican Post (1916-1949)" by Xiao Hong, Asian Philatelist 2011.
