prefix and serial number by ink-brush. Cover opened out for display. Probably carried by Qiaopiju in Phnom Penh, then forwarded to Qiaopiju in Saigon and sent to China in bulk. As the Chinese community in Cambodia was much smaller than Vietnam,
examples are particularly scarce.

 1937 Siam 15 stg stationery cover from Vientiane to Chowan, uprated by Rama VII 3stg + 2 stg on reverse. Applied with Nongkai Qiaopiju vertical seal. Adhesive tied by Nongkai (16 Dec) transit cds. Further transit Bangkok with
Qiaopiju oval seal. Qiaopi from other Thai PO to Bangkok 8 PO was charged with 15 stg while hand carry to Bangkok 8 would be charged with extra 5 stg.
1937年暹羅15士打郵資封自萬象寄潮安，背加貼拉瑪七世3士打 + 2士打。鈐“農開陳益發信局”直戳。貼票銷

 1882 Qiaopi from Bangkok to Tenghai via “Red Bow”, frankless, with address in ink-brush. “Red Bow” is Chinese junk which paid protection fee to pirates. It is the only existing example. Qiaopi from China were sent in bulk by
that time and carried to Siam by ship for further forwarding by local Qiaopiju.
1882年曼谷經“紅頭船”寄澄海，無貼票，寫有地址。“紅頭船”為潮汕商人之遠洋帆船。此為唯一存世例子。 當時中國的批信都集中打包，由輪船帶到泰國，再交本地批局代理分發。許茂春著《東南亞華人與僑批》第57頁1-114原件。(Image 1)

 ca 1920s Siemreap to Chowan. Remittance red band cover, frankless, applied with Siemreap, Bangkok Qiaopiju vertical cachets. Before 1930, Qiaopi in Siam were put into mailbag and stamps were franked on the mail bag, hence no
stamps on covers.

 1925 and 1928 a pair of remittance red band covers from Bangkok to Swatow, both frankless with vertical Qiaopiju cachet. Latter with Siam postage paid cachet. Remittance mails from Siam were usually sent in bulk. But since
1927, postmark had to be applied after checked by post office staff. A good pair for comparison.
1925及1928年一對曼谷寄汕頭銀信紅條封，均無貼票，鈐僑批局直戳。後者鈐暹羅郵局 已付機戳。暹羅僑批大多總包寄出，但在1927起，郵局職員在檢查總包後會在僑批上加上郵戳。(Image 1)
