Newfoundland/France. 1878 (Aug 9) Cover from Paris to the Postmaster General, St. Johns, Newfoundland, endorsed "per Allan Steamer of the 12th August from Liverpool to St. Johns Newfoundland" franked at the 7f rate with 1870
siege 40c, 1871-75 80c (2) and 1869 5f grey tied by star cancels, Paris Rue D’Enghien c.d.s alongside and St. Johns backstamp (Aug 21). Small tear at base (easily repairable) and pressed diagonal fold which just crosses the 40c stamp. An
