Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught. 1930 (Oct 11) Clarence House, St. James S.W postcard with message on both sides from the Prince concerning the R101 airship disaster, "My dear Jimmy, I thank you so much for your kind letter of sympathy on the death
of Douglas Gardner. He is a terrible loss to me and a great blank in my household. The disaster of the complete destruction of R101 is a ghastly affair & I feel the greatest sympathy with the Air Force (personally I hate the airship & doubt its
viability). I expect to be leaving Beaulieu on the 30th. Believe me, yours very sincerely, Arthur".
