1842 (May) Cover with a fine illustration on the front of Burghley House, the seat of the Marquis of Exeter, published by Samuel Sharp of Stamford, posted from Wansford to "Capt Broke R.N, H.M.S Thunderbolt, Plymouth" franked
1841 2d (cut into) tied by a black Maltese Cross. Redirected to Cape of Good Hope, red "RETURNED / For / POSTAGE" applied in London with a 1/4 charge shown, Wansford undated circle and London backstamps. Roughly torn open with flap removed and part

1d stamp), Norwich Union Life Insurance Society, Scottish Equitable Life Insurance Society, Lithographic Printing Office at 276 Strand London, or Drewett’s Stationers (the cheapest shop in London, envelopes 3d per 100). A scarce and unusual group,
franked 1d (6) or prepaid 1d in cash. (7).

Free Trade & Anti-Corn Laws. 1845 (July 25) Printed envelope in black, headed "Free Trade" and depicting ladies cutting corn or receiving a bag of imported corn with a ship behind, first type envelope produced by John Gadsby,
Secretary of the Anti-Corn Law League in Manchester, posted from Manchester bearing a 1d red (cut into at left) tied by "498" numeral, addressed in Gadsby’s hand to Geo. Wilson, Bridge Hotel, Sunderland, with despatch and arrival backstamps, red
