c.1911 De la Rue dummy stamps, imperforate se-tenant vertical pair in scarlet, upper stamp with KGV Downey Head and lower stamp with Minerva Head, lower margin with bars, unmounted mint (mounted in margin). A rare Downey Head
trial from the sheet of 48, twelve of which had the KGV Head, which was made from a new die supplied by the Royal Mint to the Crown Agents and then sent on to De la Rue. The head on this dummy stamp is similar to the die 2 die proof with uncleared

1911 Page from the Madagascar Post Office specimen stamp ledger, bearing the first KGV Downey Head ½d and 1d, three examples of each stamp tied to the page by red circular "POSTES ET TELEGRAPHES / COLLECTION / DE / BERNE / MADAGASCAR", the page
with signature and cachet of the Director of the Madagascar Post Office, inscription showing the stamps were received in Madagascar on 15 July. A unique archival page, folded to fit onto an album page displaying all six stamps and cachets.
