Originally sold in our April 2024 auction (for £2,500) subject to a B.P.A extension, but the B.P.A have been unable to agree on a certificate for this item, therefore reoffered "as-is". Est. £120-150 Closing..May-07, 02:00 AM EST. 1298 1870 (Sept 12) Cover to Wales with 23rd Pioneers crest on reverse, franked 8a + 8p cancelled by the very scarce undated type 9 duplex "WORKING PARTY / 313", backstamped at Rawulpindee, Murree, Bombay and Cardiff. This branch office opened in 1870 for working parties of soldiers involved in road building and construction between Murree and Abbotabad; the cancel is only recorded on a few covers from this one correspondence to Lady Tyler.
