The Terry E Williams collection - November 18, 2026

R. Maresch and Son and Longley Auctions are pleased to jointly offer the collections of B.N.A. of Mr. Terry Williams. The collection was put together over the course of many years. Mr. Williams tried to get the best quality of each, and every variety listed in the Canada Specialized Catalogue and now the Unitrade Canada Specialized Catalogue. His collection spanned every issue in great detail, with specialization in shades, papers, varieties and more. He assembled one of the largest collection of coils, including amazing experimental strips, start and end strips and unlisted repair coils. He conquered the precancels of Canada, assembling a large quantity of the early bar types and spent an equal amount of time focussed on the semi-official airmails. The provinces were a particular favourite of Terry’s, especially Newfoundland. There are over 75 lots with Greene Certificates, plus many more from various other expert committees, to allow you to bid on the many items with added comfort.

Both Bill and I will be attending CANPEX in London, October 17-18, 2026. We will be bringing this material to the show if you would like to view any of the lots. If you can’t make the show, the lots will be available for VIEWING at our offices at 2 Vata Crt Aurora Ontario, Monday November 9 to Saturday, November 14, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Monday November 16 to Tuesday November 17, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, no appointment is necessary. If you wish to come in to view earlier, especially if you live out of town, please give us a call and we will do our best to accommodate you.

This sale will be held at the offices of R. Maresch and Son at 2 Vata Crt Aurora Ontario. FLOOR BIDDING will be available, as well Stamp Auction Network’s LIVE INTERNET BIDDING. We strongly encourage bidders to use Stamp Auction Network’s bidding platform as it allows you to ensure that your bids are entered correctly. We still take bids by mail, phone and email if you prefer. If you are sending them by mail, please make sure that you mail them early enough, so we receive them prior to the sale.

This auction will start Wednesday November 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM EST SHARP, with a 30-minute break at approximately 1:00 PM EST and another at approximately 5:00 PM if necessary.

For our American bidders, please be advised that the US government has placed a 50% tariff on Canadian goods and that now affects postage stamps and other philatelic material. Your government requires us, the shipper, to collect these tariffs. Unfortunately, we will have to add the tariff to your invoice. If you are planning a trip to Canada, especially in the Toronto area, we would be happy to have you pick these items up at our offices or we can ship them to the place you are visiting in Canada, usual delivery in Canada is next day to 4 days depending on where you’re located.

Invoices will be emailed shortly after the sale. Invoices addressed to the US will take a bit longer, as we need to manually add the new tariffs that the US government imposed.

Our auctions are held in Canadian $. Shipping addresses outside of Canada will also have the US$ amount at the rate used on the day of the sale. Please feel free to pay either one. Also note that Canadian banks are now putting a 15-day hold on all US cheques. You may choose to make a payment by bank transfer to us to avoid this delay. You can pay in either US or Canadian funds as printed on the invoice.
