R. Maresch & Son Auctions Ltd. Sale - 589

Unreserved Auction Sale - March 11-12, 2026

LIVE INTERNET AUCTION. NO FLOOR BIDDING. This sale offers, among the many other usual sections, a specialized collection of Jubilees, with various cancels, including cds, Flags, Squared Circles, a specialized collections of FDCs, collected with all the official release towns, Great Britain, USA, and an overwhelming amount of large collections, accumulations and large lots.

We have noticed many changes in the industry as we enter our 102nd year in business. Brick and mortar stamp stores are becoming fewer, as technology has allowed dealers to open online stores. This also has allowed many of our knowledgeable customers more places to find many great deals. Unfortunately, mistakes happen, as ‘a little knowledge can be dangerous’, and not everything you see online is real. Technology has also allowed many to fake, forge, and repair stamps. There’s a now a massive amount of modern Canadian, Great Britain and USA issues, just to name a few that are on the market being sold at discount face. Please take caution and be careful, buying anything from unknown sources dealers and sites.

Here at R. Maresch & Son we are proud to have a great philatelic library, as well as many other knowledgeable friends that are willing to assist us, to make sure we can accurately describe the many different lots that we have to offer. For our American friends and customers, the tariffs that the United States has placed on the Canada will have some effect on your costs depending on the country of origin of the stamps. We do our best to ship by Canada Post to keep the costs down. Shipping by other couriers to the US has caused much confusion, and for some strange reason they charge higher tariffs.

Items from most countries, including, Australia, Canada, Great Britain, Mexico, USA, etc, are still duty free, and many are much lower than you think, like China at 7.5%. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions as to the duties for a specific country.

Careful viewing is strongly recommended, as this sale is, again, filled with large lots containing many cartons. Our offices are open to the public Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and for viewing specifically Monday March 2 to Saturday March 7, and Monday March 9 to Tuesday March 10 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, no appointment is necessary. If you wish to come in to view prior to normal viewing, especially if you live out of town, please give us a call and we will do our best to accommodate you.
