Small collection containing a 1775 Government Penny Post entire with Westminster Thursday handstamp and 12 o’clock handstamp, 1780 entire from France to Cambridge with 31/JY Bishop mark, 1828 Entire to Norwich with very fine boxed ‘Ixworth Penny Post’ handstamp on face, 1839 Entire to Limpsfield with superb ‘Wimborne/Penny Post’ handstamp, 1839 Fourpenny Post period (Dec. 31) entire to London with black manuscript ‘4’, 1840 entire to Aberdeen with boxed ‘PAID AT/GALWAY’ handstamp, 1840 entire to Halifax with red ‘Todmorden/Penny Post’ handstamp and large blue ‘2d’ due handstamp, 1843-44 two entires from Hull with different red hand struck ‘1D’ UPP handstamps, 1844 entire with very fine red Parsonstown ‘Pd, 1d’ UPP handstamp, 1847 cover with ‘YORK/1D/PAID’ UPP handstamp and 1821 copy of the Morning Herald sent postally with red fourpence handstamp. 1800-1849 Maritime Mail. Small collection including 1880 entire from London via Liverpool to Providence, Rhode Island with small curved ‘SHIP’ handstamp applied on arrival, endorsed per Elizabeth & Emma, 1809 incoming letter from Linz to London with a very fine London ‘*SHIP*/(Crown)/LETTER’ handstamp (Robertson Type S10), 1810 Packet Letter from London to Lisbon routed via Plymouth Dock, which the Packets were temporally using owing to a muting by the Falmouth packet crews (scarce, this arrangement was only in place until Jan. 1811), 1834 entire from Mount Irvine, Tobago to Dumfries with a blue ‘SHIP LETTER/19JU1834/LEITH’ handstamp (Robertson Type S6) with matching blue ‘Add:½’ below, 1849 entire from London to Mauritius with a red ‘SHIP LETTER/(Crown)/LONDON’ date stamp (Robertson Type S29) endorsed ‘p.
