1870: 20 + 1 + 4 Centimes von "STRASSBURG 29.12.70", wohl forwarded, da Absenderstempel "P. PASSAVANT & FILS.. FRANCFORT S-LE-..IEIN" nach Neuchatel, Suisse. Der Faltbrief ist etwas gebrochen und hinterlegt und weist vorderseitig private Notizen in kleiner Schrift über den Marken auf, die Frankatur in soweit guter Bedarfserhaltung. 1 und 20 Centimes 'Spitzen nach oben', '4 Centimes Sptizen nach unten'. Bei der 1 und 4 Centime Marke je ein fehlender Zahn. Rückseitig Ankunftsstempel "NEUCHATEL 5 JANV. 71 5 S" und interessanter kleiner Zweizeiler "(A)uf militäirischen Befehl geoeffnet" in blau, Briefe mit diesem Zenusurstempel sind selten! (55)" cds in black, a clear information strike alongside. Occupation stamps Alsace-Lorraine / Okkupationsmarken NDP Elsass-Lothringen 1870: Envelope with full content from Metz to Bordeaux, bearing 20 c. blue with normal underprint 'burelage droit', a fine and fresh single example, tied by French thimble type 16 cds (Oct 30, 70) in black, information strike alongside, reverse with BORDEAUX arrival cds (Nov 8). An appealing and interesting usage of the French datestamp on the occupation adhesive, the stamps were issued in September 1870, the civil postal administration took over from the Fieldpost in Alsace-Lorraine on October 6, 1870.
