image 1880 1c Buff Franklin Re-Issue, on Soft Porous Paper, a mint never hinged block of four, with full original flawless gum, all four stamps are fresh and well centered. Lower right stamp has two light corner creases, and upper right stamp has a few shorter perfs, leaving both left stamps quite attractive and desirable. A rarely offered block, and the only one we know of with never hinged original gum. (Image)

image Treasure City, Nevada Postmarking Instruments, a rare offering of 5 original instruments, including a "TREASURE CITY / NEV" 32mm c.d.s. instrument carved in hardwood, also some instructional marking instruments, with "DUE", "MISDIRECTED", "UNPAID" and "CORRECT". Treasure City started as an encampment in 1867 and quickly grew as a silver mining town, up until the 1880s when it was abandoned. Its post office opened in June 1869. These were bought in a Southern California antique shop in the early 1970s, and only just uncovered. Very fine. (Image)

image Accumulation of Mint and Used United States, 1860s-1990s, with a few thousand stamps in two albums, loose album pages, glassines, 102 cards, and more. The lot consists of a few hundred used singles, along with a few sets, and partial sets from the 1860s to roughly 1920, with the bulk of the lot containing mint material from the 1920s onwards. Just a few of the used items encountered include Scott #s 61, 68, 76 (x2), Colombian Exposition (1c-15c), 285-291 (c.v. $317), 294-299 ($119), noting a few used singles cataloging $10 and up. The mint material includes singles, along with a few plate blocks, sheetlets and booklet panes with a face value totaling $205 (counting 10c up to $5 only). Online photos show a sampling.
