Welcome to our last mail auction of 2019. We have had fine autumn weather
this year and a shorter winter is predicted, which of course we all hope
for. Over 3,000 lots make up this sale, with the best offering of Canada
precancels that we have had in some time, plus good sections of Canada from
classics to modern, Newfoundland including postcards and desirable foreign
singles, sets and collections.
Of particular note in this auction is the first portion of the 'Glenwood'
Collection. If you collect used British Colonies you will enjoy perusing
these lots. This collector pursued the hobby for more than 70 years and
amassed a huge amount of material. Forty large albums and two dozen
cartons housed his collection. He was especially fond of perforation and
watermark varieties, shades, dies and different printings. For the most
part he ignored such things as errors, proofs and plate varieties. Many of
the countries were collected according to the Gibbons catalogue. It is the
most extensive used collection that we have ever offered. Scarce singles
and sets abound. And be sure not to miss the collection balances and other
large lots from this impressive holding.
