A beautiful cover and also the earliest known example of an inverted 1d black on cover. BP Basel certificate. Previously offered by Robson Lowe in 1948. Cat £7500.

Charged €˜8€™ (also in red) in the UK as a ship letter and showing upright circular dated SHIP LETTER LIVERPOOL, then U.S. and Canada charges totalling €˜2/2€™ (Currency). The Cunard Line rate would be a shilling direct to Canada.
