A RARE COVER CARRIED & SIGNED BY JIM MOLLISON & HIS WIFE, AMY (JOHNSON) MOLLISON: 'Seafarer Atlantic Record Flight' 1933 (July 22/23): stampless legal size envelope carried on the flight from Pendine Sands, Wales to New York, by Amy Johnson and her husband Jim Mollison. On July 23 the plane 'Seafarer', A De Havilland Dragon, was forced to land in a swamp near Bridgeport, Connecticut, after running low on fuel. The cover signed is by both pilots with type-written note on reverse: "This letter was recovered from the marsh at Bridgeport .....crashed in the 'Seafarer' July 23rd.1933 after successfully crossing the North Atlantic from Wales, New York City July 27th 1933". Only four covers were carried. [Nierinck 330723, at page 397].
