1796 1890 (Sep 23) Large registered O.H.M.S cover to Emil Tamsen in the Transvaal bearing 5/- orange + 1890 1½d each tied by fine cork cancel (Proud K60), red oval "REGISTERED / ST. HELENA" with number "1", violet oval "POST OFFICE / (crown) / ST. HELENA" with "No. 2" and a St. Helena c.d.s. Backstamped with three further strikes of the Post Office cachet and datestamps of Cape Town (Oct 6) and Pretoria. An uncommon genuine usage of the 5/- value, presumably sending stamps to the dealer Tamsen.
