1530 image1954 (Jan. 7) Water damaged Forces Mail cover from Raub, Pahang, to England with black boxed "DAMAGED BY SEA-WATER", London I.S. in triangle inspectors mark on the front also in black. This London G.P.O. cachet was used on pre-war covers (e.g. "Centurian") and clearly shows some wear by 1954, previously unrecorded from this crash. Rare. Photo on Page 190. (Image1)

1531 image1954 (Jan. 7) Registered Forces Air Mail cover from Taiping, Perak, to G.B., bearing a Taiping registration label, stamps washed off, both sides with violet "DAMAGED BY SEAWATER / *COMET MAIL*", the front also with similar red cachet "DAMAGED BY SEAWATER" with just an "M" in the second line. 1534 Colony of Singapore Report of Public Enquiry published for Colonial Office by H.M.S.O. London, a full report which makes harrowing reading in places, good condition, rare. Also two large press photos of the burning wreck, another of the distressed mail in a heap on the grass being picked over, and a few newspaper cuttings.

1536 From Australia. 1954 (Mar. 12) Covers enclosed within oversize O.H.M.S. buff ambulance envelopes, comprising cover with Malaya resealing label within 250x122mm envelope with London Official Paid c.d.s, cover franked 18/- within 153x122mm envelope, and an airline mail envelope to the Australian Booking Unit B.O.A.C. within 280x125mm envelope, the ambulance envelopes or contents all with usual handstruck boxed cachet in red. Also buff foolscap annotated O.H.M.S. cover with contents to Australian P.O. representative at the High Commission franked 2/-. A scarce and unusual group. (8).
