1669   ImageAmerican Letter Mail Co., (5c) Blue on Gray (5L3). Clear margins to just in at bottom, pen-cancelled and "tied" to folded cover along with (5c) Black on Gray (5L2), red "Forwarded by American Mail Co. No. 56 Wall St. -- N.Y." three-line handstamp, docketing inside indicates June 18 (no year date), the combination of these two stamps on cover is highly unlikely as as the June 1845 uses of 5L3 fall well outside the period of known uses of 5L2, as such one of the two stamps does not belong on the otherwise genuine cover, the No. 5L3 is genuine and scarce and is offered on that basis, Scott Retail for 5L3 off-cover (Image)
