GERMANY COLLECTION
Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
2077 og German Empire and Third Reich extensive and valuable mint collection, well over 1,300 different including nine souvenir sheets in Lighthouse hingeless album, being very comprehensive starting with 1875 Small Eagle "pfennige" issue through 1945 Third Reich issues and everything in between with regular issues, semi-postals, air posts and officials, includes a number of shades of the Small and Large Eagles, some of the better being signed by various experts, there is an excellent showing of the various Germania issues including both peacetime and wartime printings of the watermarked issue plus shades, the inflation period is likewise very comprehensive with shades and varieties scattered throughout, starting in 1923 the collection lacks very few of being complete and often used values are tucked behind the mint, we note some top sheet-margin singles of the 1928 Presidential series showing flat and rotary press printings (gum adherence) and a 1933 Nothilfe souvenir sheet, overall the collection is clean and attractive despite the occasional fault that is to be expected on a collection of this scope, o.g., generally collected hinged though never hinged items are sometimes found, nearly all are fine-very fine with only a few exceptions; a very worthwhile collection with much desirable material; certainly worth careful examination with total Michel catalog value well in excess of €25,000; accompanied by five APS certificates and two German Bundesprufer opinions. Est. 4,000-5,000

SOLD for $8,500.00
