1619 c   Tonga tin can mail cover collection of well over 110 covers, being one of the most comprehensive and valuable collections of these popular and exotic covers we have ever offered, over one half of the covers are from the especially desirable 1934-44 period, with a fabulous range of special cachets and other handstamps that were used, most of these are outward usages, but there are some inward usages as well from Australia, New Zealand and the United States (two of these are franked with 3c and 5c 1938 Presidentials), unusual covers abound including two absolutely gorgeous Karl Lewis handpainted overall designs, the other covers span the 1962 to 1983 era, these being largely souvenir type covers, but many show legitimate usages of the many exotic stamps issued by Tonga during this period, including several silver foil stamps, as well a stamps in shapes of bananas, most of the covers are mounted and all are extremely well annotated, in addition to having some interesting collateral material accompanying, all fine-very fine or better; more than half the covers are ex-Janet Klug, certainly one of the most prominent names in philately, in addition to being an avid Tonga specialist.
