FIRST ISSUE COLLECTION AND GROUP LOTS
Lot Symbol CatNo. Lot Description CV or Estimate
514 ogO First Issue remarkable balance of the mounted collection containing many hundreds (probably over one thousand) stamps, Mr. Cunliffe liked to collect four of each stamp and neatly arrange them on his album pages, with the four usually having different cancels (or some being mint), many of the values are still intact, with all four of each present, this is particularly true of the perforated stamps, also a nice range of part perforate stamps, high catalog value in the imperforates, which include not only singles, but many pairs and other multiples, in addition there are strong sections of paper and other varieties, color shades, unused examples and cancellations, while there are some small faults, the overall quality is better than typically found, with many attractive stamps throughout; an outstanding lot either for the dealer wanting an impressive stock of first issues, or for the collector wanting a strong basis on which to start collecting this popular field. Est. $10,000-15,000

SOLD for $75,000.00
Will close during Public Auction
515 Obl First Issue multiples valuable balance of the mounted collection, containing about 275 multiples ranging in size from a pair to a block of 64, mostly perforated and part perforated stamps, although there are a few better imperforate such as two blocks of four of the $50.00, many cataloging $400.00-$1,500.00 each, with some even higher, several are among the largest recorded multiples, in fact some were the largest multiple when the Turner census was published, the condition will be mixed as expected on so many large multiples, most with fine-very fine appearance; an incredibly rare opportunity to obtain so many First Issue multiples at one time. $37,000.00+

SOLD for $17,000.00
Will close during Public Auction
