399 E/P Newfoundland Dog imageUnnumbered Die Proof British America Bank Note Company die size 82x65 mm. Identical to the die no. 43 example we sold in sale 15, lot 163, for $850. The famous image used on Newfoundland stamps and a number of bank notes it is based on the painting by Sir Edwin Landseer. Pasted onto die sunk card, glue around the edges well away from the design.
