Cunard Contract Mail, Pre US-UK Treaty 1840-1845; British Boston Consul acting as Forwarder, 1843 (datelined Xmas): Entire letter from Kingston, Upper Canada to London, carried on the "Hibernia" from Boston 1
January 1844 to Liverpool 13 January, red straight-line BOSTON of the British Consular office, red London arrival backstamp (Jan 14), manuscript '1/-' British due. A most interesting entire, this British BOSTON marking was applied by

straight line ´BOSTON´ handstamp. Rarity: PROFI knows only four other covers from Kingston, Canada to Dublin, Ireland, these written by Legislative Assembly member John Cartwright. Provenance: Robert Siegel sale 784 (October
