10151 * imageSingle Watermark, 1914/20: ½ green, horizontal pair, the left stamp with variety "Thin '1' in Fraction at Right", lightly mounted original gum, well centred and of fresh colour, a couple trivial shorter perfs at top, of little importance given the rarity of this striking variety, one of the most iconic of the George V issues, a most attractive and particularly desirable multiple. Cert Drury (2015). Gi = £24'000+ / ACSC 63B(5)s = $40,000. Note: The Australian Commownealth Specialists' Catalogue describes the "Thin 1" as a "bump retouch," and was undertaken by Harrison prior to his first printing of Electro 5. Only five mint examples, including a block of six and three pairs, are recorded; one pair is in the R.T.P. Chapman Collection now of Australia Post, leaving the example offered here as one of two possible pairs available to collectors (Image 1) (Image 2) (Image 3)
