One value with smoothed bow mark and one with minor pressure mark, otherwise perfect. Largest known used multiples of this stamp; we have registered another such large strip. Sign. "1" and adjacent despatch datestamp "DRESDEN 13 JUL. 58" and two values with overlapping red transit postmark "TOUR T. FORBACH...", on a small envelope to Paris, with a stated additional franking of "2½" Neugroschen. Further reverse transit and arrival cds. on the reverse. An exceptionally late use and the only known fully franked foreign letter of the Frederick August issue.

JAN. 51" on cross ribbon to "Drehbach bei Zwoenitz" and with Ra.2 "ZWÖNITZ 6 JAN 51" forwarded to Ehrenfriedersdorf, in whose ordering district Drebach lay, with Landbote order fee of 10 Pfg. noted on reverse. 1855, ½ Ngr. black on matt grey, full margins, cancelled by numeral obliteration with adjacent DKr. "LEIPZIG 6 XI 60" on insufficiently franked complaint cover from Leipzig to Grosskugel, there forwarded to Merseburg and taxed with 1½ Sgr.; for the forwarding route an additional single postage rate of 1 Sgr. was required, therefore "1½" cancelled and "2½" postage paid. Slight patina and traces of transport, otherwise a scarce use in good condition

1855, ½ Ngr. schwarz auf mattgrau, vollrandig, entwertet durch Nummernstempel mit nebengesetztem DKr. "LEIPZIG 6 XI 60" auf unzureichend frankierter Reklamationsbrief von Leipzig nach Grosskugel, dort nach Merseburg weiterbefördert und taxiert mit 1½ Sgr.; für die Nachsendestrecke war zusätzlich ein einfaches Portosatz von 1 Sgr. erforderlich, daher "1½" gestrichen und "2½" nachtaxiert. Leichte Patina und Transportspuren, sonst ein seltene Verwendung in guter Erhaltung

1851, King Friedrich August II. the misprint ½ Neugroschen black on matt Prussian blue in a souvenir sheet of 4, very attractive fresh colours and full to mostly wide margins on all sides, unused with original gum, the upper right stamp with a small light spot (partly rebacked), the two left values have - like almost all stamps of the misprint - very few small sand grain holes, of which only one is noticeable in the outer margin of the lower stamp. This is the only known souvenir sheet of 4 of this stamp (postage stamp), which is also the second largest known multiples of this rare misprint. 1851, König Friedrich August II. der Farbfehldruck ½ Neugroschen schwarz auf mattpreußischblau im 4er-Block, sehr schön farbfrisch und allseits voll- bis meist breitgerandet, ungebraucht mit frischem Originalgummi, die rechte obere Marke mit kleiner hellen Stelle (teils hinterlegt), die beiden linken Werte haben -wie fast alle Marken des Fehldruckes- ganz wenige winzige Sandkornlöcher, wovon lediglich eins im äußeren Rand der unteren Marke auffällt. Es handelt sich hier um den einzig bekannten 4er-Block dieser Marke, der zugleich die zweitgrößte bekannte Einheit dieses selteten Fehldruckes darstellt. 1863/67, coat of arms issue ½ Neugroschen vivid reddish orange, two single values together with 1 Neugroschen magenta and horizontal pair and single stamp 5 Neugroschen grey ultramarine with double circle cancellation "DRESDEN 23 JUN. 65" on envelope via France to Porto Alegre, Brazil with transit and arrival postmarks on face. The letter fell into the 1st German and 2nd French weight class, accordingly correctly franked with 3 Neugroschen Vereinsporto and 14 Neugroschen Weiterfranko (incorrectly noted). The 5 Neugroschen values somewhat defective resp. small defects repaired, otherwise flawless and very attractive fresh colours except for a small printing mark on the 1 Neugroschen stamp. An attractive and very rare letter to South America; we have registered only one wide cover from Saxony to Brazil. Certificate Vaatz (2018)

1863/67, Wappenausgabe ½ Neugroschen lebhaftrötlichorange, zwei Einzelwerte zusammen mit 1 Neugroschen magenta und waagerechtem Paar und Einzelmarke 5 Neugroschen grauultramarin mit Doppelkreisstempel "DRESDEN 23 JUN. 65" auf Briefkuvert über Frankreich nach Porto Alegre, Brasilien mit vorderseitigen Transit- und Ankunftsstempeln. Der Brief fiel in die 1. deutsche und 2. französische Gewichtsstufe, entsprechend korrekt frankiert mit 3 Neugroschen Vereinsporto und 14 Neugroschen Weiterfranko (falsch notiert). Die 5 Neugroschen-Werte etwas fehlerhaft bzw. kleine Mängel behoben, sonst bis auf eine kleine Druckstelle bei der 1 Neugroschen-Marke einwandffrei und sehr schön farbfrisch. EIn attraktiver und sehr seltener Brief nach Südamerika; von Sachsen haben wir nur einen weiteren nach Brasilien registriert. Fotoattest Vaatz (2018)

2 Neugroschen blue and 2 single values 5 Neugroschen grey-ultramarine with no. "12" and neatly adjacent DKr. "FREIBERG 1/IX 64" on envelope with pre-printed address to Virginia City in the 'Nevada Territory'. It was carried via Aachen, England and Boston with on face red "BOSTON BR. PKT. 28 PAID" on the front, then wide via the American overland or Wells Fargo route by ship across the Mississippi and then by mail coach overland and through the desert. The letter with traces of carriage to be expected for this route, the 5 New Penny values slightly bent at the left due to edge taping, the upper one with a lot of corner teeth. An interesting and scarce letter to the west of the American continent before the railway line was built. Certificate Vaatz BPP (2019)

Der Brief mit für diese Strecke zu erwartenden Beförderungsspuren, die 5 Neugroschen-Werte links durch Randklebung leicht bügig, die obere mit losem Eckzahn.
