1030 c Image5c Green, Stone 1-2 (1). Vertical pair, huge margins with portions of adjoining stamps at top and bottom, rich color, tied by blue "Norfolk Va. Nov. 5, 1861" double-circle datestamp on buff cover to Carroll Hoy & Co. in New Orleans, small filing holes as usual for this correspondence, top stamp has a light diagonal bend not mentioned on accompanying certificate, Extremely Fine Gem pair on an immaculate cover, also a scarcer use from Confederate Norfolk, which was captured by Union forces in May 1862 and remained in Union hands for the rest of the war, with 2003 P.F. certificate (Image)
